Electronic Deadbolt
An electronic deadbolt is a lock that uses a small motor to retract and return the lock’s deadbolt instead of having to do it manually.
These locks are normally powered by batteries and most electronic deadbolt locks use a keypad to unlock the lock with a key backup in case of power failure.
Besides the “cool factor” many people want an electronic deadbolt door lock for the convenience of not having to dig out house keys when their hands are full of groceries.
People with children like the idea of going with a keyless lock since kids have a tendency to lose things and it is easy for them to remember a 4 or 5 digit number.
